Career transitions in international mobility
International mobility can profoundly change a person’s relationship with work. Whether it involves returning home after a period abroad, relocating to accompany a partner, or building a life in another country, these transitions can create a need to reflect on one’s experience and redefine one’s professional direction.
The program helps participants understand what has changed over time, which skills they have developed, and what they now want from their professional life. Through guided dialogue, reflective exercises, and career guidance tools, it enables them to identify the common threads in their experience, clarify their values, motivations, and priorities, explore environments and roles suited to their current stage of life, and develop a realistic and sustainable career plan.
An important part of the process also focuses on how to communicate one’s experience. Skills developed in international contexts are not always easy to identify or articulate. Bringing them into focus makes it possible to create continuity in one’s professional story and present oneself with greater clarity, coherence, and self-awareness.
When a lack of confidence or fear of change makes it harder to make decisions, the program can be complemented by one-to-one coaching sessions that combine structured dialogue informed by ICF coaching principles with the Wingwave® method.
