Intercultural adjustment in international mobility
A programme for expatriate professionals, accompanying partners and students preparing to relocate or who have recently arrived in a new country. It is available as a general programme based on the CQ framework and the CQS, and as a dedicated programme for Italy, with specific content on the Italian professional and social context.
The programme helps participants understand the stages of adjustment, interpret everyday communication and relationships more accurately, and develop practical strategies for adapting to their new professional, educational and social environment.
Before the workshop, participants complete the internationally validated Cultural Intelligence Assessment (CQS) and a short questionnaire about their needs. The results allow the programme to be tailored by identifying the dimensions of cultural intelligence that need strengthening to interact more effectively in different cultural contexts. During the workshop, insights into the destination country, practical exercises and analysis of real situations help turn awareness into concrete strategies.
The programme is adapted to the different participant groups. For expatriate professionals, it focuses on adjusting to the new working environment and can be delivered in the workplace. For accompanying partners, attending individually or as a couple, it considers the impact of relocation on identity, roles and familiar points of reference. For students, it explores adjustment to the new social environment.
The workshop can be complemented by an individual CQS debriefing and two coaching sessions. These are scheduled according to the stage of adjustment and the concrete situations arising in the new professional, personal or educational environment.
Recommended for:
- Companies welcoming international professionals and wishing to support their adjustment to the new environment
- Expatriates and accompanying partners undergoing an international relocation
