Sales Manager / Sales Director / Head of Sales and Service
Location: Milan

Role

Reporting to the Group GM abroad, the appointee will:

  • Define and ensure execution of the commercial strategy to achieve sales targets and profit-margins
  • Lead and develop an internal and external sales as well as customer-support and service team
  • Manage and develop existing strategic clients and sectors

  • Develop new market sectors and clients

  • Ensure sales and service processes are continuously improving and at optimum levels
  • Keep up-to-date with market and competitor evolution and adapt accordingly for competitor edge

  • Prepare the annual sales plan and report regularly
  • Contribute to Group management decision-making and business growth
  • Motivate, manage and support the Italy Sales and Service team; develop further the team’s competence
  • Cultivate positive relations with all direct and indirect reports

  • Foster team spirit together with a climate of continuous learning and improvement
  • Ensure compliance with company policy
  • Reach with the team exciting sales and business targets

Candidate Profile

  • Preferably a university degree-holder in Business, Engineering or related
  • Proven commercial management and business development experience in a similar sector – ideally hydraulic, industrial equipment or related
  • Driven and results-oriented
  • Proactive approach and excited by the opportunity to increase sales, develop the business and team
  • Experienced in market analysis, commercial strategy-setting and execution
  • Experience in the management and development of a small commercial team

  • Leadership qualities, team-spirited, ambitious and results-oriented

  • Used to evaluating performance and managing KPIs

  • Experience gained from within international companies, ideally reporting to an HQ abroad
  • Willing to travel frequently in Italy to visit clients, trade fairs, also periodically abroad for meetings and training
  • Digitally literate

  • Financial acumen
  • Able to analyse data, manage a budget, carry out reporting

  • Able to collaborate closely with the team and partners in Italy as well as with management abroad
  • Excellent communication skills: fluent English and Italian
